The Beginning and the End

Let us start at the end shall we, although it is hard to define the end when there is constant maintenance on the house and the garden is always evolving.  As I write this update, it is eight years since we moved in and I’m currently re-painting the windows that I first repaired and painted in year one.  That is the normal maintenance schedule and that is what I signed up for so I won’t be complaining here, maybe just inside my own head a little bit.  To remind myself how far we have come though, I thought I’d compile this gallery of images of the house and garden as they are at the moment…

…compared to how they were eight years ago…

The rest of this blog describes the transformation that has occurred over the past eight years.  Some of the writing goes in to great detail about lime plaster and things so if that’s not your bag, just enjoy the pictures.
