Kilver Court Garden, Winter
An RHS partner garden open to the public with a unique historic semi-industrial backdrop. Broadly consisting of a parterre, a rockery and a lake with a grade 2 listed viaduct running across the eastern edge. The rockery is planted with numerous shapely conifers, with splashes of colour from heather and dogwood, whilst a large specimen Trachycarpus fortunei draws the eye.
This was originally a garden developed in the 1800’s by MP Ernest Jardine, where millworkers could relax and grow food. The current garden was designed in the 1950s by Chelsea gold medallist George Whitelegg and later restored by fashion designer Roger Saul, founder of Mulberry.
