A sleek and stylish house of mid-century modern architecture nestled on a south facing hillside in Uplyme, the village just inland of Lyme Regis on the Dorset coast. The hard landscaping of concrete and wood takes its cue from the clean square lines of the house. Enclosing the house on two sides is an intimate gravel garden by local designer Alice Meacham, with a rich palette of textures and year-round interest using conifers and Phormiums, airy grasses, and autumnal colour splashes from dogwood and Acer. On the other side is a swimming pond whose surface reflects the shapely border planting of Echium and Tetrapanax. From here, the garden loosens into a relaxed area of grass and mature Acer whilst margins of bamboo achieve an impressive sense of privacy.

This is just a sample of a photo set containing over 80 fully captioned photos, including plant combinations and at least 12 portraits of key plants. This garden has featured in the press once before in a summer edition of Gardens Illustrated over 5 years ago, not long after the garden was built. This is a new set of images however, celebrating a more mature phase of the garden in it's autumn form. There is no specific writer linked to this photo set.
