The Old Rectory is a formal country garden and Georgian rectory in South Gloucestershire, restored by the owners over a period of 12 years. Garden designer Iain MacDonald worked with the owners on the garden, which consists of approximately 2 acres of walled garden as part of a wider 15 acre estate. It is a garden with a strong structure of pleached hornbeams, an elegant still water ‘canal’ feature, and the most amazing tree house. There is a tunnel of trained apple trees through the productive garden which is full of flowers for the house and edible produce at this time of year.
The garden is captured here one evening at the start of summer, with fresh green foliage and early summer flowers in full bloom.
