A unique Arts & Crafts style house just a stone’s throw from the coast, with a garden designed by Helen Elks-Smith for outdoor living. The palette of plants is at home in the coastal environment: structural Phormiums and Echiums, grasses that dance in the softest breeze, dusky blue tones and soft yellows to reference the nearby beach. The garden room echoes the unique curved dormers in the roof structure of the house, and it divides the formally planted garden from a wilder area of the garden which has been planted with a James Hitchmough seed mix. This is a small/medium size private garden, less than 1/2 acre, which does not open to the public.

This is just a sample of a photo set containing over 80 photos, including 4 plant combinations and 12 portraits of key plants. The full set does not contain a picture of the owner or designer. The owner would probably prefer not to be photographed but the designer would be happy to provide a portrait if required and would be the person to interview about the garden. To the best of my knowledge, this garden has not featured in the press before, but as this picture set was originally commissioned by the designer, some of the pictures do appear on her website. There is no specific writer linked to this photo set. There are no conditions agreed with the owners and they have no plans to move any time soon. The full set is available to download via WeTransfer on request.
